From fellowship training through current-day practice, Dr. McMillan has focused on minimally-invasive arthroscopic treatment of painful shoulder conditions such as rotator cuff tears and impingement, and activity-limiting knee conditions such as meniscus and ACL tears. After completing the residency training that all orthopedic surgeons complete, Dr. McMillan did an extra year of subspecialty training in Arthroscopy and Sports Medicine called a fellowship. During this fellowship, Dr. McMillan learned directly from some of the true pioneers of arthroscopic shoulder, knee, and wrist surgery. Dr. McMillan also had the opportunity to work with weekend, high school, college, and professional athletes (the Pittsburgh Steelers) as part of his fellowship training. This fellowship training gave Dr. McMillan the skills to help patients get back in the game, or back to work and activities, fast!
